Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz (CUAS Mainz), is a state-recognised university with faculties for Social Work and Social Sciences, Practical Theology, Health Care and Nursing. The responsible body is the Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft zur Förderung von Wissenschaft und Bildung mbH of the (arch)dioceses of Cologne, Limburg, Mainz, Speyer and Trier.
The core remits of the university include application-related tuition, research and further education. Mainz Catholic University of Applied Sciences qualifies its graduates to become technically competent and socially responsible experts and managers.
We wish to state here that almost all of our study programmes are taught in German only! Except for lectures within the International B.A. in Social Sciences: Migration and Integration.
The aim of all research activities of CUAS Mainz is to contribute to solving current problems and challenges in the social, societal and ecclesiastical fields as well as in the nursing and health care sector. This results in a commitment to application-oriented research and consequently to the transfer of theory and practice. In this way, an important contribution is made to the critical reflection of professional practice in the social and health sector.
Globalization and social change have an impact on the professional development of social, educational and nursing professions. Therefore, the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz considers internationalization as a process extending into all areas of the university. CUAS Mainz sees itself as an internationally oriented university that actively promotes intercultural exchange.
