Please note that all study programmes are offered in German except for the international Bachelor programme: "Sozialwissenschaften: Migration and Integration / Social Sciences: Migration and Integration". This study programme is approximately half taught in English and half in German.
Exchange students who do not speak German may only attend the courses in English: English taught lectures 2020-2021
Students selected by our Erasmus exchange partners will generally qualify for this exchange programme. The annual number of students to be exchanged is agreed on in a bilateral agreement. Once selected and admitted by CUAS Mainz, you can apply for Erasmus funding through the Erasmus coordinator at your home institution.
Erasmus Charter and European Policy Statement
The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014-2020 (pdf) provides the general framework for all European co-operation activities that higher education institutions may carry out within the Erasmus Programme. The Charter also sets out the fundamental principles and the minimum requirements underlying the Erasmus+ activities a higher education institution has to respect.
The European Policy Statement (pdf) sets out the overall Erasmus+ co-operation strategy of the Catholic University of Applied Sceinces Mainz in relation to its mission statement
Erasmus Student Network
The Erasmus Student Network is a non-profit international student organisation. Their mission is to represent international students, thus provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development.
Before you are able to submit an application for a study exchange at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz (CUAS Mainz), your own university must nominate you. We confirm your nomination by email and ask you to submit your complete application documents to us, comprising
• CV with photo (German or English)
• Proof of language skills (min. B2)
• Transcript of records
• Proof of your health insurance
• Copy of your passport (official ID or passport)

Enrolment and semester fee
Enrolment takes place after arrival in Mainz on the induction day. All students (German and international) are required to pay a semester fee at this time, which is approximately €360.
The semester fee is a contribution to cover the costs of social care, as well as the free semester ticket covering the use of public transport in the Rhine-Main region throughout the semester. This is not a tuition fee. Exchange students pay normal tuition and fees to their home institution as appropriate. They will not have to pay for tuition at CUAS Mainz. Students are responsible for travel costs, passport and visa, room and board, textbooks, health insurance and personal expenses including leisure travel.

An application for exmatriculation can be made at any time. Retroactive de-registration (date in the past) is not possible. Creation of performance records for exmatriculation without graduation - Processing by the Examination Office.
