If you want to receive a doctorate, you have to fulfil the following minimum requirements:
• In principle, a master's degree or equivalent qualification with a final grade of "good" or "very good" is required. This should have been acquired in the same subject or a field related to that of the desired doctorate.
• Beyond that the faculties and departments at the cooperating universities regulate all further details of the admission requirements via specific doctoral regulations. Hence you should take a closer look at it.
• The topic of the dissertation should already be outlined and presented in a written synopsis.
• You need to find a professor at CUAS Mainz to supervise the dissertation. The basis for professional support during the entire doctoral phase is the supervision agreement.
A doctorate requires an inordinate amount of time (usually 3 - 5 years), dedication, and discipline. Therefore it should not be undertaken lightly. The doctoral handbook provides excellent guidelines for examining your decision for a scientific career: Qualitätszirkel Promotion (Publisher): "Shaping a Doctorate Together - Guidelines for Doctoral Candidates." Neustadt a. d. Aisch 2014 (2nd edition).
In any case, we highly recommend to make an appointment for a consultation with the doctoral coordinator at Mainz CUAS:
