Social involvement and knowledge transfer are regarded by the Catholic University of Mainz Applied Sciences together with further education as the so-called Third Mission of the University. This broadens the traditional activities of teaching (First Mission) and Research (Second Mission) by adding new tasks that are directly committed to society.
